Yianna and George's engagement

Greetings to all. It’s April 2021 and like most people we feel that 2020 was somewhat of a surreal year dominated by the pandemic. In terms of functions, they were on and then off , sometimes again and again. The logistics of postponing functions was nothing less than a nightmare for the families organising their celebration.

We hope that everyone is now feeling a bit more settled and can have the functions to celebrate their special occasion with others. Being social is one of those things which can bring us much joy and happiness.

This leads me to the engagement celebrations of Yianna and George. We were so pleased they asked us to photograph their moments in time to celebrate their love and commitment to share their lives together.

Two more down to earth young people than these two is hard to find. We love them and they are genuinely good people. They are both altruistic in nature, involved in fund raising and helping the less fortune, not as a duty but something they deeply believe in. They are grateful and acknowledge their blessings and feel they can pay some of this forward.

Their event occurred a few days before the end of 2020 … A long year where life was dramatically different for most. We would work from home when we could, wear masks, register where ever we went, washed our hands more regularly than ever and took care to protect not just ourselves but everyone around us. In some ways it brought us closer together.

We started our photos in the Grounds of Alexandria where , at the time, they were holding a beautiful and magical Cinderella exhibition. Yianna liked the idea of photographing around this exhibition and we agreed.

We then went to the reception at St George Sailing Club where they celebrated with 150 of their closest and dearest family and friends. Although here was no dancing and social distance was practiced, there was still a lot of fun and laughter had by all.

Below are some of our favourite photos from the first part of their day at the Grounds at Alexandria for you to enjoy.

Until next time remember, "you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, smarter than you think, and loved more than you’ll ever know” ….A.A. Milne.

Love from kathy and tony x
