Georgia's Christening

Late last year we had the privilege of photographing Kate’s baby shower and recently the Christening of her and Dennis’s treasured 9-month-old daughter Georgia. This joyful Christening early last month provided us the opportunity to be around our own family as well as they were invited guests. They too were part of the story of the day, which we depicted in our photographs, the beautiful moments in time.

Georgia’s Godmother Leah was overwhelmed by the significance of the day and later told me how blessed she felt to have two wonderful nieces, one of whom she now has the double title of Aunt and Godmother. Leah’s love for these two girls was obvious to anyone who watched her engage with them.

The Christening ceremony was held at Saint Raphael Greek Orthodox Church, followed by the reception conveniently located next door at Fontana Amorosa.

The theme was Carnival and the front stage of the reception was styled appropriately to depict the Carnival theme. The differing sizes of the balloons coloured bright pink, white and purple cascaded down from the cake table, the multi-tiered cake had a merry go round on one of the layers and the cake was topped off with a circus performing golden horse wedged onto bright flowers.

Petite desserts were layered on the front table which matched and complimented the colours of the flowers and balloons. There was an exquisite white lace signing book for guests to write their best wishes for Georgia, and to finish off this spectacular styling there was a gold high chair for the guest of honour.

The doting grandmothers had turns in spending time with Georgia who was very comfortable with them both. One of the Grandmothers, Stella, told me that she was so overjoyed by her expanding family that she would do anything to see her children and grandchildren happy.

There was laughter, touching sincere speeches and a great deal of dancing which went well into the night. This family knows how to party.

We enjoyed our time with Georgia, her parents and the rest of their extended close family and friends. We hope you too enjoy a few selected photos of the day.

Until next time
