History and tradition make for a beautiful Christening
Gorgeous little girl Zana was Christened at St George Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral, several weeks ago by her adoring Godparents Maria and John. Zana was obviously very comfortable with each of them as she reached out to them and gave them the most beautiful smile. Zana’s smile was contagious ….you couldn’t help but smile too.
The celebration continued at South Sydney Graphic Arts Club, Coward St, Mascot
Toula had arranged for an extraordinary beautifully decorated two tier cake surrounded by other sweets made by close friends and family. Her mum was responsible for the fresh flowers decorating the tables. Each child received a bag containing age appropriate toys and activities. The bomboniere was a fragrant mini jar white candle made more beautiful with Toula’s touch. Toula added decorative ribbon, a thank you card and a mesh sack filled with the traditional almond lollies.
A children’s entertainer was also very much appreciated by the large number of children at this event. They were not only entertained but had their faces painted. On such a beautiful day the children were outdoors where parents could keep an eye on them through the glass windows, yet enjoy themselves at the same time.
Toulas good taste and organisational skills shone through. Her attention to detail was very obvious wherever you looked. The afternoon flowed beautifully and effortlessly and the speeches were heartfelt. Friends and family had a lovely time celebrating the christening day of this treasured child, Zana.
Zana’s traditional Christening gown was extra special being the same gown her mum Toula was baptised in three decades previously.
A totally adored little girl by not only her mum and dad but by her whole extended family from both sides.
It was such a joy to photograph and have been part of this beautiful occasion. Below are some photos for you to peruse.
Until next time, stop thinking too much, it’s alright not to know the answers. They will come to you when you least expect…
