This is the second time Effy made contact with us, this time to arrange Christening photography for her best friend Michelle’s second child Nate. Effy is a beautiful lady , quiet and unassuming who has a generous nature and generosity of spirit. It was lovely to reconnect with her and the whole family, who were friendly and genuinely happy to have a reason for the family get together.
Effy wanted nothing more than to ensure that Michelle and Grant had the memories of Nate’s special day captured as they were for their first born Elyssa. Baby Nate completed Michelle and Grant’s family.
The Orthodox christening was held at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Cross in Wollongong. Father Andrew was his usual happy self with humour thrown in for good measure which no doubt put people at ease.
Nate is a happy 9 month old with rosy cheeks and an adorable smile. It was obvious Nate was comfortable with his Godfather, Christopher. There was an interaction between the two of them which only comes from spending large amounts of time together, to gain the trust and love of a child.
The reception was help Wollongong Golf Club, overlooking the stunning golf course and Pacific Ocean.
The grandparents on both sides we’re extremely proud of their expanding family, however no one as proud as Nate’s Great Grandfather, who spent most of his time around his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
There was great affection and banter between this older man and his grown up grandchildren and a gentleness and love for his great grandchildren of which was adorable to witness.
It is always a pleasure to return to photograph a family a second time. We feel blessed to always have had the best of clients. We do our best to exceed all expectations, put people at ease, coordinate the families with minimal intrusion. We photographically tell the story of their special day, which will stay with them for many, many years to come.
Each christening we photograph is a time which helps to renew our faith and the wonderment and symbolism of this most sacred of Christian sacraments.
Following is some photographs of the day.
Until next time, remember that difficult roads can lead to beautiful destinations…
