Christening Photography – why we should come to your house before the ceremony
Sorry Internet… it has been a long time since my last post.
Have you considered having your photographer come to your house before the Christening ceremony to capture some beautiful moments and family shots before you head off to the church? Why would you do this?
Well, based on experience I can tell you that the service can be overwhelming for your little one… each child is unique (of course) and they handle the service in different ways: some are engaged and seem to enjoy the experience, others sleep through the whole event, whilst others shriek and cry the whole time.
And if your child is the latter, you may not end up with the photos you were looking for!
Christening Photography is all about capture memories and moments. And clearly we don’t want to present you with an album full of crying baby photos. And in the past we have thought “it’s OK, we’ll get some great photos at the reception.” But of course, with being so upset the child sleeps for the next few hours.
So, we can come to your house for 20 to 30 minutes, take some shots of you and your child getting ready in a relaxed, comfortable environment. It also has the benefit of your little one getting used to us a little and be more comfortable around us – after all, we are just about to spend a good two or three hours together.
The way we normally structure the engagement would be:
- 20 to 30 minutes at your home
- full coverage of the service
- two hours at the reception
Using this approach gives you a better record of your child’s important day.
Of course, you know your child better than anyone – and if you think this kind of service will be beneficial, give us a call (0403 912 340) or send an email ([email protected]) or use the contact form to send us a message.
Until next time
